MICK MORRIS is a graduate of the FEMBA Class of 2026, where he earned a specialization in global management. A mechanical engineer and capital projects leader, he has built his career supporting manufacturing, warehousing and supply chain operations through strategic engineering programs and infrastructure projects across North America. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and now based in Los Angeles, he earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology from the University of Cincinnati and previously served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Drawn to the global management specialization, Mick sought to better understand how business decisions are made, how strategy is developed and how leaders can more effectively connect organizational goals with the teams responsible for executing them.

Throughout the FEMBA program, Mick balanced the demands of graduate study with a full-time role overseeing critical infrastructure and operations-focused capital projects at more than 200 manufacturing and warehouse facilities across North America. Coming from a technical background and Midwestern blue-collar roots, he viewed the CGM as an opportunity to broaden his perspective on the forces shaping business worldwide, including technology, policy, culture and global markets.

Through UCLA Anderson and the CGM, Mick traveled to seven countries across Asia and Europe, gaining firsthand exposure to a wide range of business environments. During the Greater Asia Region immersion in China and Singapore, he explored how AI, automation and digital ecosystems are transforming industries and redefining competition. Company visits and sessions with organizations including Tencent, ByteDance, Alibaba Group, NIO and Temasek provided insights into the interplay between government policy, innovation, consumer behavior, and enterprise and economic development.

As part of his MBA capstone project, Mick worked with a team that developed a U.S. market strategy for SDLG, part of Lingong Group, gaining practical insight into global supply chains, customer expectations and competitive dynamics in the construction equipment industry. 

Mick further expanded his global perspective through the CGM’s global immersion in India, where visits with organizations across technology, finance, healthcare, media and entertainment illustrated how local conditions influence business strategy and execution. He later served as a teaching assistant for the France immersion, continuing his involvement with the CGM.

On campus, Mick pursued globally focused coursework and held leadership roles with Out@Anderson, FEMBA Student Council and the Association of Veterans at Anderson. Reflecting on his Anderson experience, he credits the CGM with expanding his view of leadership and business. His global experiences reinforced the belief that operational and infrastructure decisions are never purely technical; they are shaped by culture, markets, policy and people. As he continues his career in capital projects, facilities strategy and supply chain operations, Mick looks forward to applying a globally informed perspective to help organizations build more resilient, scalable and globally aware businesses.
