6 QUESTIONS WITH APOORVA TYAGI (MBA ’22)
Q1: What career pivot did you make via your MBA?
A: Coming into Anderson with 6 years of experience working in startups, I leveraged my MBA to pivot into a big tech company. My focus since Day 1 was to be able to showcase all of the product management and startup-hustle experience I had and present it effectively in the context of a large company — I’m so grateful to Anderson to help me do that!
Q2: What do you wish you know now that you wish you knew as a prospective Anderson MBA student?
A: I wish I knew how impactful the leadership positions at Anderson can be in enhancing the MBA experience. Getting involved in the community has been one of the most enriching and rewarding experiences here, and I’m glad I didn’t miss out!
Q3: How has your Anderson experience changed you?
A: In every single way! From understanding the importance of community and sharing success, to learning how to land any job you want or build any career you wish, to driving change through thoughtful leadership — I feel like I’m an upgraded version of myself in just a few months!
Q4: Why would you recommend Anderson?
A: If community and culture is important to you, come to Anderson! It’s what set Anderson apart to me since Day 1 – our collaborative culture and values come across strongly in everything we do. If that’s something that you’re looking for, there’s NO other business school better for it!
Q5: What is your most favorite Anderson memory and why?
A: First day on campus! As the class of 2022, we started off virtual — but we were able to go on campus and experience a restricted in-person class; although far from the real thing, it was so exciting to be in a classroom surrounded by my amazing peers!
Q6: What activity or hobby did you enjoy most during your MBA years?
A: Being involved in Entrepreneur Association, first as a Director and now a Vice President. It’s one of the most exciting clubs on campus — for budding entrepreneurs, future VCs or anyone interested in working in startups!
